Fairfax Imaging releases Quick Check 21 module
In October of 2004, The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21) made it legal for businesses to replace paper checks with digital copies of the originals. Traditionally the check would be imaged and then sent through a second scanning device to encode the check and then sent to the bank through the mail for processing. Check 21 truncation eliminates the need of this second scanner and the costs and time of shipping checks for processing; the check information is sent to the bank electronically. When the bank receives the imaged payment information there is no delay in processing, the information is recognized and processed instantly.
Quick Check 21, is an application built around the concept of integrating this new type of check truncation as streamlined as possible, providing customers with an automatic application to send payment information. This application, has been first installed for one of Fairfax Imaging’s newest customer LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE:LFG) and has been warmly received. LandAmerica is a leading provider of real estate transaction services and has just recently gone live with Fairfax Imaging’s Quick Modules processing solution.
This product is expected to be warmly received not only in the high volume mail-order industries, but smaller businesses as well. Small businesses can scan checks each day and upload them to its bank for deposit with Quick Check 21. The Quick Check 21 module is currently being negotiated for integration with a Quick Modules solution for Cigna’s (NYSE:CI) mail-order and specialty pharmacies, Tel-Drug. Fairfax Imaging is expecting numerous customers to start integrating their Quick Modules solution with the Quick Check 21 module.
